RE-EXISTENCE AND DIGITAL VIRTUAL RE-HABITATION
Year// 2022
Type// Academic Project
As a research assistant, I participated in a project focused on the digital preservation of Cali's modern residential heritage from the 1950s. These single-family homes, designed by prominent architectural firms, have either been demolished or drastically modified, losing their original physical, spatial, and aesthetic qualities. Through digital virtuality, we propose the re-existence and re-habitation of these houses, allowing a new appreciation of their original characteristics and technical solutions in relation to use, landscape, and climate.
My role centered on 3D modeling based on archival photographs, old images, and documentary sources. This virtual reconstruction work aims to democratize access to Cali's modern heritage and enable alternative forms of experience and spatial analysis that transcend traditional historical assessments based solely on graphic images and text.
